Employee Attendance Information is showing Absent for the month for
- New joiners, or
- Existing employees

Access Card Number may not be updated for the employee on the greytHR application as per the Biometric Database System.

Step 1 : Navigate to Access Card Page from the Employee Information Section

Step 2 : Select the Employee, then enter details such as Access Card number, From Date

Employee Swipes are not available in the Biometric Database System.

If the swipes are not available in the biometric database, you need to get in touch with your Biometric vendor to fix the issue.
Once the swipe details are available on the Employee Swipe page ( Path : Leave >> Admin Section) on greytHR,you need to manually Process the Attendance for your employees.
Kindly note, the automatic attendance process setup on greytHR will take care of the attendance process only for the previous day; for the backdated attendance process you need to manually process the attendance by following the manual method.

Step 1 : Navigate to the Process Attendance tab from the Leave >> Admin Section.
Step 2 : Select the Dates
Step 3 : Click on the Process.

Changes in employee shifts are not reflecting in the other attendance-related pages on greytHR, eg: Attendance Info, Attendance muster etc.




After updating the shift details for your employees using the Shift Roster page, click on the refresh button to ensure the changes in the employee shifts are updated in the other shift related pages on greytHR.

Step 1: Navigate to Shift Roster Page from the Leave Admin section

Step 2 : Ensure you click on the Refresh Icon every time you update the shift roster details of your employees.

Error message on the attendance info page, "Employee is not assigned to any attendance scheme/shift




You may get this error if the affected employees are not aligned to any shift or attendance scheme on the Position History page.

Step 1 - Navigate to the Position History page from the Employee Information section

Step 2 - Select the Employee, then click on the edit button next to the Attendance Scheme or Shift Category

Step 3 - Add the New category , Save the changes

Employee attendance status is showing Absent for a specific or multiple days on the Attendance Info page even after completing the shift.



Employee attendance status is shown based on the actual hours completed by the employee as per their shift policy. If the employee's actual hours are less than the minimum work hours defined for half/full day for the specific shift, then the attendance status will show as Absent.Contact Support Team for more details about the Attendance policy configured in your greytHR account.

Employee swipes are not reflecting in greytHR Employee Swipe section, but the swipes are available in the Biometric Database System.




Your Greytip Astra running status would have stopped. You can check the status on Astra Configuration Page by navigating to Leave Information Employee Swipes tab. Error message "Greytip Astra is not Running"

Restart Greytip Astra
Step 1 : Go to Windows Start >> Type Services.msc>>Select Greytip Astra>>Restart Astra service.
Step 2 : Login to http://localhost:9001/login in attendance server
Step 3 : Use same admin credential to login
Step 4 : Settings-->Cursor Info-->Edit settings-->Select the Date > Save
Note : Wait for 15mins and Process the Attendance Manually.

Step 1 : Navigate to the Process Attendance tab from the Leave >> Admin Section.
Step 2 : Select the Dates
Step 3 : Click on the Process.

Duplicate Access Card number issued to employees

Generate the Access Card report from Report Gallery or Query Builder tab by navigating to the reports section.

If an employee comes before their Shift Start time, you can find their swipes in the Biometric System Database, not on greytHR.

"Ensure the Shift In Margin associated with each shift based on their shift timings.

The Shift in Margin is the specified time from which an employee begins work for a specific shift.

For example, the 09:00 - 18: 00-hour shift, if you allow a 1-hour shift in margin; the swipes will be captured on greytHR employee swipes page only from 8:00 onwards.

Employee's shift roster information has been uploaded using the greytHR's excel import feature; however, the shift details are not updated accordingly in the system




Proper shift code is not used while uploading the Shift Roster information using Excel Import feature.

"Use the correct Shift Code while uploading the Shift Roster information of your employees on greytHR.

You can find the Shift Code details by navigating to Leave, Information, Shift Roster Page."

Getting error message on the employee Swipes Page "Greytip Astra is not running"




Greytip Astra Service will stop automatically every time the windows operating System upgrade happens.

Not able to find the Manual sign in / Sign out button on the greytHR Mobile App




Check whether employees are in premises as per the location defined in office locator and check the GPS accuracy.

"Ensure the latitude and longitude of your office location are set correctly on the greytHR Office Locator Page.

Ensure the employees are in the system radius while marking attendance using the greytHR mobile application.

You can always follow the below path to know how to check what is current radius set up in your greytHR account by following the below path.

Step 1 : Navigate to System Settings tab, from the Attendance Setup Guide

Step 2 : View and Edit the details.

Holiday list has been uploaded successfully on greytHR; however, the attendance is showing absent for a few employees on these days.




These days would have updated as Restricted Holidays (Optional Holidays) on your greytHR application.

Revisit the holiday list by navigating to the Holiday List page from the Leave Setup section.

Employees can avail the Restricted Holiday only based on eligibility also employees need to apply to avail a restricted holiday. Else system will mark the day as absent.

Swipe details are reflecting in Employee swipe folder on greytHR however, the actual working hours for the employees are not calculated based on latest swipes captured in the system.




Employees latest swipes would have downloaded from the Biometric Database to the greytHR application post the automatic Attendance Process for the specific day

Since the Automatic Attendance Process runs only for the previous day, you need to manually process the attendance.

Step 1 : Navigate to the Process Attendance tab from the Leave >> Admin Section.

Step 2 : Select the Dates

Step 3 : Click on the Process.
