What is Geo Mark+?

Geo Mark+ allows the employees to mark their attendance online, using the greytHR mobile application. Employees can manually log in to their ESS (mobile application) and mark their attendance from the client location that they visit. 

Who can use Geo Mark+?

Any employee for whom the Geo Mark+ is configured/ enabled can use the feature.

At what accuracy will the employee’s location be captured?

The employee’s nearby address, latitude & longitude, date & time of swipe and whether it is a swipe in or swipe out is also captured.

Can a manager or admin accept or reject swipes?

Of course! The swipes are auto approved until the manager or admin manually rejects them for a valid reason.

How to reject the swipes?

The swipes can be rejected only from the web application. Here is how you can reject the swipes:

 

  1. Navigate to  My Info > Attendance > Employee Swipes.

  2. In the Employee Swipes page, from the Type filter select Geo Tracking Swipes, and from the Status filter select Approved. A list of all the approved swipes appear.

  3. Select the employee(s) from the check box, for whom you want to reject the swipe and click Reject Swipe button, at the bottom of the page. You are prompted to either confirm or cancel your actions.

  4. Click Confirm. The swipe(s) will be rejected and the details disappear from the list.

Is there any penalty for the rejected swipes?

The penalty depends on the Attendance Penalties that are already configured in the Attendance Policies.

Is there any time limit for to accept or reject the swipes?

The rejection of swipes has to be done before the Attendance Period Finalization. However, the swipes are auto approved.

Can the employees use the other methods already available, to sign-in while using the Geo Mark+ feature?

Based on the swipes capturing methods enabled in the Attendance Scheme, the employee can sign-in while using the Geo Mark+ feature. If geo fencing and geo tracking are active, only geo tracking method will be considered.

How to validate if it’s the same person?

Keeping in mind the compliance risks, we capture the employee's device ID and name.

On what basis can an Admin reject a swipe?

For any valid reason such as the attendance was marked from a wrong location or for any other faux reasons.

What are the steps to enable Geo Mark+ feature?

The Admin has to navigate to My Account > New Features > enable Geo Tracking.

What if I'm using the older version of mobile app?

The feature is not supported for Android versions below Lollipop (5.0-5.1.1) hence, it'll not work.

Which mobile app version will have this feature?

This feature is subscription based and works for Android versions Lollipop (5.0-5.1.1) and above.

Can I undo a rejected swipe?

The swipes can be rejected only from the web application. You can revert the Rejected swipes before the Attendance Period Finalization process.

  1. Navigate to  My Info > Attendance > Employee Swipes.

  2. In the Employee Swipes page, select Geo Tracking Swipes from the Type filter and Rejected from the Status filter. A list of all the rejected swipes appear.

  3. Select the employee(s) from the check box, for whom you want to revert the swipe and click Undo Rejection at the bottom of the page. You are prompted to either confirm or cancel your actions.

  4. Click Confirm. The rejected swipe(s) will be undone and the details disappear from the list.

Can a manager or admin view the swipe history?

Yes, you can view the swipe history from the History column. If the swipe was rejected and undone, an icon appears in the row. Clicking upon the icon will open the details in depth about that swipe.

Will this new feature impact my existing settings?

Definitely not, the new feature will not hamper any existing settings.

My employee is unable to login as the address displayed is inaccurate. How do I help?

If the system is not responding or the address displayed is incorrect, the employee can refresh the page using the Refresh button, at the bottom of the page.

Is there any differentiation for rejected swipes?

Yes, the rejected swipes will appear in red color in the Attendance Info page for the employee.

Will an Admin be able to view the swipes report?

Yes. Admin can use the Excel Export button in the Employee Swipes page, to get the swipes report.

How would my employee get to know if a swipe was rejected?

The employee will be notified via an email with the dates and reason for rejection.
